Product Reviews - Stork Crib Set

Today I'll be starting with the...

Product Review #2: Stork Crib Set!

This was by far an excellent buy for me as it came with so many useful items and features:

1) Crib
2) Play Pen
3) Changing Table
4) Insect Net
5) Hanging Mobile
6) Baby Bag

This was an unbelievable buy at a not too bad of a price. It's completely collapsable and can easily be stored away when your little one has out grown it.

The only downside I had about this crib was that the 'sponge layer' was a bit thin and didn't look too comfortable for a fragile little baby. What I did do however, was to line the sponge layer with a thick wool blanket and then a disposable under pad (to prevent pee from getting through to the blanket) and then a sheet over to provide a more cozier environment for my son. As he got bigger, I had a custom size mattress made to fit the crib and got my elder sister to sew some sheet sets to go with it. So it continued to be a pretty awesome choice for a crib!

Point to note! The putting together and taking apart is not as easy as they make it out to be! It's not impossible but it takes a little bit of figuring out to get it done! So you may not want to choose this if you want a 'on-the-go' crib!

So the crib is basically the top layer which is sort of a basket hooked onto the sides of the playpen. You place the sponge layer into the basket and your baby can sleep at that level which is easier for you during the night when you need to take him/her out for cradling or feeding. Please note! It's a good practice to encourage your baby to sleep alone in his/her crib. It teaches them independence and is a form of discipline from a young age. Spoiling your infant from young just increases your headache in the long run!

The playpen feature is when you remove the crib basket and place the sponge layer to the bottom of the pen. This is where your little one can move about freely with his/her toys. At the infant stage, you may want to keep away from fluffy stuffed toys and hard plastic toys. You can go for more rubber toys, non-furry stuffed toys etc. The playpen also has a large pocket on the side where you can store pampers and wipes for quick and easy access!

The changing table is a nice touch! It hooks to the top of the playpen on the side and features a strap where you can strap your baby in while you change the diaper. Babies can be very unpredictable so you may want to be very cautious and vigilent during the changing process if you don't want to use the strap!

Finally the baby bag! These are surprisingly really pricey these days. Can't seem to figure out why but the fact that I got a baby bag included in the set, was a huge plus for me!
